Once you are fueled up, jump in your cart and head straight to the southern tip of the island to catch Punta Sur. This is an absolute, not-to-be-missed highlight of Isla Mujeres. If you want something quick, rustic, and incredibly authentic instead, look for Al Natural in the Norte area. It is a beloved local favorite where residents constantly flock for takeout. The food is exceptionally fresh, priced wonderfully well, and they serve our favorite agua fresca on the island!
Afternoon: Sun-soaked beaches and hidden corners
If you are traveling with small kids: Skip the waves and head to Playa Nikita. It is a fantastic locals' beach where the water stays perfectly shallow, making it incredibly safe and relaxing for toddlers to splash around.
If you want a lively vibe: Hit the world-famous Playa Norte. The water is clear, calm, and spectacular. While the main stretches get a bit crowded, our ultimate insider tip is to head toward the Northeast corner, away from the loud beach clubs, to find a significantly more laid-back, serene experience.
